Category Manager - Indirect Procurement

About the Role

Our client is looking for a strategic and experienced Category Manager specializing in Indirect Procurement to join their team in Sheffield , operating under a hybrid work model. This critical role involves developing and implementing category strategies for non-direct spend areas, such as IT, marketing, facilities, and professional services, to achieve significant cost savings and enhance value. You will lead complex negotiations, manage key supplier relationships, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with business objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for indirect spend areas, optimizing cost, quality, and supplier performance.
• Lead and manage end-to-end sourcing projects, including RFx processes, negotiations, and contract awards.
• Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Conduct thorough market analysis, identify sourcing risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation plans.
• Monitor category performance against key metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements for indirect procurement.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement, with a focus on indirect categories .
• Proven track record in developing and implementing category strategies and managing complex negotiations.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive informed decisions.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
• Experience working effectively in a hybrid work environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required.
