Category Manager - Indirect Procurement

About the Role

Our client is looking for a strategic Category Manager specializing in Indirect Procurement to join their established team based in Milton Keynes . This pivotal role will focus on developing and executing category strategies for non-product expenditures, driving value and efficiency across the organization. You will be responsible for managing key supplier relationships and ensuring cost-effective sourcing of indirect services and goods. This is an office-based position, designed to foster strong team collaboration and direct engagement with internal business units and the supplier base.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies for indirect spend areas, including IT, facilities, and professional services.
• Lead sourcing initiatives, supplier selection, and contract negotiations to achieve cost savings and service improvements.
• Manage key supplier relationships, conduct regular performance reviews, and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide expert procurement advice.
• Monitor market trends and identify potential risks and opportunities within assigned categories.
• Ensure compliance with all procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Requirements

• Significant experience in category management and strategic sourcing, preferably within indirect procurement.
• Proven track record of delivering substantial cost savings through effective negotiation and supplier management.
• Strong understanding of procurement best practices and contract law.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Must be able to work effectively from our Milton Keynes office.
