About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Category Manager to oversee indirect procurement categories for their operations in Cardiff . This strategic role involves managing spend across services, facilities, and operational goods, driving significant cost savings and value creation. You will be responsible for developing category strategies, leading complex sourcing initiatives, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, extensive negotiation experience, and a deep understanding of indirect spend management, contributing to the company's overall strategic goals and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category strategies for indirect spend areas, including IT, marketing, HR, and professional services.
- Lead complex sourcing projects, including RFx processes, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation.
- Manage supplier relationships within assigned categories, focusing on performance, innovation, and risk mitigation.
- Analyze spend data to identify savings opportunities and optimize category performance.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure procurement solutions meet business requirements.
- Monitor market trends and best practices in indirect procurement to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Significant experience in category management or strategic sourcing, with a focus on indirect spend.
- Proven track record in leading large-scale sourcing events and negotiating complex contracts.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
