Category Manager - Indirect Procurement

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic Category Manager to lead the procurement of indirect goods and services for their organisation, based remotely but with occasional travel to Brighton . This key role involves developing and implementing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving value through effective sourcing and negotiation. You will play an integral part in optimizing spend, mitigating risks, and ensuring that the indirect procurement function delivers maximum value to the business, supporting various departments across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for indirect spend areas such as IT, facilities management, and professional services.
• Conduct market analysis to identify best practices, new suppliers, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Lead complex sourcing events, including RFPs and negotiations, to secure favourable terms and contracts.
• Manage and develop key supplier relationships to ensure performance and innovation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and align procurement activities accordingly.
• Monitor category performance, track savings, and report on key procurement metrics.

Requirements

• Proven experience in category management or strategic sourcing, preferably in indirect procurement.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage a remote workload effectively.
• A degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Brighton and other company sites.
