About the Role
Join our client as a Category Manager specializing in Indirect Procurement , working remotely with occasional travel to their Milton Keynes office. This strategic position is responsible for managing a specific portfolio of indirect spend categories, driving value creation through effective sourcing and supplier relationship management. You will develop category strategies, lead complex negotiations, and work collaboratively with business units to ensure procurement delivers maximum benefit. This role demands a proactive approach, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders across the organization to achieve significant cost savings and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies for indirect spend areas such as IT, facilities, and professional services.
- Lead end-to-end sourcing events, including RFx development, supplier evaluation, and negotiation.
- Manage key supplier relationships, ensuring performance, compliance, and value delivery.
- Conduct market analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction and innovation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and ensure alignment with category strategies.
- Monitor category performance against KPIs and report on key metrics.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in strategic sourcing and category management, particularly in indirect spend.
- Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings and value through procurement initiatives.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
- Experience working with remote teams and managing projects autonomously.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Relevant professional qualifications or a degree in a related discipline.
