Category Manager - Indirect Procurement

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Category Manager specializing in Indirect Procurement to join their team in Cambridge . This role is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for a defined set of indirect spend categories, such as IT, Marketing, and Professional Services. You will manage supplier relationships, drive cost efficiencies, and ensure alignment with business needs. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies for indirect spend areas to optimize value and reduce costs.
• Conduct market analysis and supplier assessments to identify best-in-class sourcing solutions.
• Lead negotiations and manage contracts for key suppliers within assigned categories.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective procurement solutions.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Category Manager or in a senior sourcing role, specifically within indirect procurement.
• Strong track record in developing and executing category strategies.
• Expertise in negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
• Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in procurement tools.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
