About the Role

Our client, a leading force in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a strategic and commercially astute Category Manager to join their dynamic commercial team in Edinburgh . This role is instrumental in driving category growth and profitability by developing and executing effective category strategies that align with both consumer needs and business objectives. You will work closely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to optimize product assortment, pricing, promotions, and merchandising. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies to drive sales, market share, and profitability.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of category performance, consumer trends, and competitive landscapes.
• Manage relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimize product offerings and promotions.
• Develop and execute effective pricing and promotional plans to maximize category revenue.
• Collaborate with the sales team to ensure effective in-store execution and representation of categories.
• Identify new product opportunities and manage the category's product lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in category management or a related commercial role within the FMCG industry .
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful category strategies.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with data analysis tools and market insights platforms.
