An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Category Manager to join a leading global engineering company. This strategic procurement role will be responsible for developing and delivering category strategies, driving supplier performance, and supporting long-term supply chain optimisation initiatives.

Working closely with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders, you will lead sourcing activities across a complex supplier base, identifying and qualifying new suppliers, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the organisation is positioned to support future programme growth.

Main Duties: Category Manager

• 
  
• Develop and execute category and sourcing strategies aligned to business objectives.

Identify, assess, qualify, and develop new suppliers.

Manage supplier relationships and drive continuous performance improvement.

Lead commercial negotiations covering contracts, pricing, lead times, and service agreements.

Support cost reduction and value improvement initiatives.

Optimise inventory performance across the procurement portfolio.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support supply chain and procurement transformation programmes.

The ideal will be able to demonstrate the following Category Manager

• 
  
• Proven experience in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Procurement within a manufacturing or engineering or equivalent environment.

Strong knowledge of PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies).

Experience developing sourcing strategies and managing supplier selection processes.

Strong commercial and negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable outcomes.

Ability to build effective relationships across suppliers and internal stakeholder groups.

Results-driven with a proactive and collaborative approach.
