About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Category Manager to join their dynamic team in Leeds , focusing on the FMCG sector. This strategic role involves taking ownership of specific product categories, driving category growth through insightful analysis, effective merchandising, and strong supplier relationships. You will be responsible for optimizing the product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies to maximize profitability and meet consumer needs. This is a vital position for shaping the product offering and commercial success of key FMCG categories within a leading retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies that align with overall business objectives, focusing on sales growth, profitability, and market share.
- Analyze category performance data, including sales, margin, and market share, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure the timely delivery of products.
- Develop and execute effective merchandising and promotional plans to drive category sales and enhance customer experience.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to ensure the category remains competitive and relevant.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and finance, to support category initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Category Manager or similar role within the FMCG industry .
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with a demonstrated ability to drive category growth.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and retail management software.
