About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Category Manager to oversee key product categories within their expansive FMCG portfolio, based in their Glasgow office. This strategic role demands a deep understanding of market trends, consumer insights, and supplier negotiations to drive profitable growth. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of your assigned categories, from product assortment planning to promotional strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies to maximize sales, profitability, and market share.
• Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure competitive pricing and product quality.
• Develop product assortment plans and promotional calendars to drive category performance.
• Collaborate with marketing, merchandising, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of category plans.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage supply chain logistics to optimize availability and minimize costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in category management, with significant exposure to the FMCG sector.
• Proven ability to develop and implement successful category strategies and plans.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and commercial acumen.
• Excellent understanding of retail operations and consumer behaviour.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
