About the Role
Our client, a leading player in the FMCG industry, is seeking an insightful and commercially astute Category Manager to drive category growth and strategy in Edinburgh . This role is responsible for managing a specific product category, developing data-driven insights, and working collaboratively with retail partners to maximize sales and profitability. You will be the expert on your category, identifying market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes to shape product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic thinker with strong analytical and negotiation skills to make a significant impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category strategies to drive sales, market share, and profitability.
- Analyze category performance, consumer data, and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers and retail partners, negotiating terms and promotions.
- Develop and implement effective merchandising and promotional plans within the retail environment.
- Ensure optimal product assortment and stock levels to meet consumer demand.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and supply chain, to ensure category alignment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Category Manager or in a similar commercial role within the FMCG sector .
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated success in managing product portfolios and driving category growth.
- Proficiency in category management software and MS Office Suite.
