Term Time Contracts

This contract offers part-time hours across 38 weeks of the year, primarily during term time. You will be required to work during the academic terms, with some additional duties outside of term time as needed. This structure provides a balance between a part-time role and flexibility during non-term periods.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our Catering Services team, helping us provide a welcoming and high-quality service across our college catering outlets.

In this varied role, you will support the preparation and service of food and drinks, serve customers, operate tills and take payments, replenish stock and help ensure our catering areas are clean, well-presented and ready for service. You will also assist with deliveries and basic food preparation while following appropriate food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures.

Working both independently and as part of a team, you will play an important part in creating a positive experience for our students, staff and visitors. About You

You will be a polite, approachable and dependable individual with experience of working with customers and responding to their needs. You will be comfortable using a till and handling payments and will have experience preparing and serving hot and cold drinks.

You will understand basic food safety and health and safety working practices, along with knowledge of preparing simple sandwiches and snacks. You should be able to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently, manage your time well and maintain high standards of personal hygiene.

You do not need to hold all relevant catering qualifications when you join us. What is important is your willingness to learn and work towards the required food safety, hospitality, literacy and numeracy qualifications.
