Catering Assistant

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Catering Assistant to support their operations in Norwich . You will be involved in various aspects of event catering, from food preparation and service to setup and cleanup. This role requires a flexible approach and a willingness to assist wherever needed to ensure the success of our catering events. If you are a team player with a keen eye for detail and a passion for hospitality, this part-time position offers a great way to gain experience in the catering industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of food items, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
• Serve food and beverages to guests at events, providing excellent customer service.
• Help with setting up event spaces, including arranging tables, decorations, and service areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all catering areas, including washing dishes and equipment.
• Assist with packing and unpacking catering equipment and supplies.
• Follow all food safety and health & safety guidelines at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience in catering or hospitality is desirable but not essential.
• A good understanding of food safety and hygiene principles.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Good communication skills and a polite demeanor.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, often with advance notice.
• Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting moderately heavy items.
