Catering Events Planner - Cambridge

About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and organised Catering Events Planner to join their team on a contract basis, serving clients in and around Cambridge . This role focuses on conceptualising and meticulously planning bespoke catering experiences for a diverse range of events, from corporate functions to private celebrations. You will work closely with clients to understand their vision, translate it into delicious and memorable culinary arrangements, and coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure flawless execution. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work from home for planning tasks while requiring on-site presence for client meetings and event oversight in the Cambridge area.

Key Responsibilities

• Consult with clients to understand event requirements, preferences, and budget constraints for catering services.
• Develop creative and tailored menu proposals, considering dietary needs and culinary trends.
• Coordinate all logistical aspects of catering events, including staffing, equipment, and timelines.
• Liaise closely with the kitchen and service teams to ensure accurate execution of planned menus and service styles.
• Manage event schedules, supplier bookings, and client communications throughout the planning process.
• Conduct site visits and pre-event checks to ensure all catering arrangements meet high standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in event planning , specifically within the catering or hospitality sector.
• Excellent understanding of food and beverage offerings, presentation, and service styles.
• Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail in planning and execution.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
• Proficiency in event planning software and standard office applications.
