Catering Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and organised Catering Supervisor to support their operations in Reading . In this hybrid role, you will assist the Catering Manager in overseeing daily kitchen and service activities, ensuring smooth delivery of catering services for various clients and events. You will be responsible for guiding the catering team, maintaining service standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise catering staff during service, providing clear direction and support.
• Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items according to established standards.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and service areas, adhering to hygiene regulations.
• Manage inventory of food and supplies, assisting with orders and stock rotation.
• Handle customer queries and feedback, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction.
• Support the Catering Manager in training new staff and enforcing company policies.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role, preferably with some supervisory experience.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
• Organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks efficiently, including some remote administrative duties.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including some weekends, as required by event schedules.
