About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Catering Supervisor to oversee the smooth execution of catering services for various events in Edinburgh . In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of catering staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and providing excellent customer service to clients. You will play a key part in the setup, service, and breakdown of events, coordinating with the kitchen and management teams to guarantee successful outcomes. This position requires a hands-on approach, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively, with some flexibility for hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct catering staff during event setup, service, and breakdown.
- Ensure all catering services are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Conduct pre-event briefings with staff to assign roles and responsibilities.
- Manage on-site inventory of food, beverages, and supplies, reporting any shortages.
- Address client feedback and resolve any issues promptly and professionally during events.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment for the catering team.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or catering industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- A thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
- Must be organised, efficient, and capable of working under pressure in a dynamic environment.
