Catering Team Leader

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Catering Team Leader to join their busy operation in Reading . In this hands-on role, you will guide and support a team of catering staff, ensuring the efficient delivery of food and beverage services for various functions and events. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of service, food quality, and hygiene, while also assisting with event setup, preparation, and execution. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and motivate the catering team, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items according to specifications.
• Manage the service of food and beverages during events, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Ensure all catering areas, equipment, and utensils are kept clean and adhere to strict hygiene standards.
• Oversee stock rotation and assist with inventory management and stocktaking.
• Support the Catering Manager in training new team members and implementing operational procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role within the catering or hospitality sector.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and health and safety practices.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• A positive and proactive approach to problem-solving.
