About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and passionate Character Animator to join their vibrant studio in Bristol . You will be responsible for bringing characters to life through expressive and dynamic animation, contributing to the visual narrative and gameplay experience of their exciting projects. Working closely with the art and design teams, you will translate character concepts and requirements into compelling animated performances. Key Responsibilities

• Animate character performances, ensuring they are expressive, believable, and aligned with the project's artistic style and narrative.
• Work with character rigs to create high-quality animations for cinematics, gameplay, and in-game events.
• Collaborate with directors, art leads, and other animators to achieve the desired character personalities and movements.
• Implement and refine animations within the game engine, ensuring they meet technical and performance requirements.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest animation techniques and tools to continually improve the quality of work.
• Provide constructive feedback to peers and contribute to a positive team dynamic.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Character Animator in the gaming, film, or animation industry.
• A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional character animation skills, demonstrating a solid understanding of body mechanics, posing, and timing.
• Proficiency in industry-standard animation software such as Maya or 3ds Max.
• Experience working with character rigs and understanding of rigging principles.
• Familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) and their animation systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented studio setting.
