Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Engineer specializing in Environmental Compliance to join their operations in Oxford . This role is critical for ensuring that all chemical processes and activities adhere to national and international environmental regulations and sustainability goals. You will be responsible for monitoring environmental performance, developing strategies for pollution prevention, and implementing best practices to minimize the company's ecological footprint. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations, and permits.
- Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics, including emissions, waste generation, and resource consumption.
- Develop and implement strategies for pollution prevention, waste reduction, and resource efficiency.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for new projects and process modifications.
- Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors on environmental matters.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Science/Engineering.
- Experience in environmental compliance, sustainability, or process safety within the chemical sector.
- In-depth knowledge of UK and international environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with environmental monitoring techniques.
- Excellent understanding of chemical processes and their environmental impacts.
- Effective communication and reporting skills.
