Chemical Engineer - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Engineer with experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing to join their state-of-the-art facility in Leeds . This role is critical for ensuring the efficient and compliant production of life-saving medicines. You will be responsible for process design, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives within a highly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate chemical processes for pharmaceutical active ingredient (API) and drug product manufacturing.
• Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EMA).
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues to maintain product quality and production schedules.
• Develop and execute Process Performance Qualification (PPQ) studies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Production.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of GMP, validation principles, and regulatory guidelines in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with process simulation, data analysis, and statistical process control (SPC).
• Proficiency in relevant software such as DeltaV, Aspen Plus, or similar systems.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a regulated environment.
