About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer to contribute to their state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Plymouth, Devon . This role is focused on the process development, scale-up, and optimization of drug substance manufacturing. You will ensure that all processes meet stringent regulatory requirements (e.g., GMP) and contribute to the efficient production of life-saving medicines. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize chemical synthesis and purification processes for pharmaceutical intermediates and APIs.
- Lead technology transfer activities from lab scale to pilot and commercial manufacturing.
- Ensure all processes comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct process validation studies and prepare associated documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues encountered during manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, QC, and QA.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in pharmaceutical process development and manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of GMP, FDA, and EMA regulatory requirements.
- Experience with process scale-up, validation, and tech transfer.
- Proficiency in process modeling and data analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
