About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and hands-on Chemical Engineer to join their plant operations team in Nottingham . This role is fundamental to the day-to-day running of their chemical manufacturing facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations. You will work closely with plant operators, technicians, and management to address operational challenges, implement improvements, and maintain high standards of performance. The ideal candidate is practical, proactive, and possesses strong problem-solving skills relevant to plant-level chemical engineering issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for plant operations, troubleshooting process upsets and equipment issues to ensure continuous production.
- Monitor process performance against targets, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions promptly.
- Participate in safety reviews and ensure all operations adhere to strict safety and environmental regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process improvements.
- Support commissioning activities for new equipment or process modifications.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to optimise preventative maintenance schedules and address reliability concerns.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 2-5 years of experience in chemical plant operations or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with process equipment, unit operations, and basic process control principles.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations in the chemical industry.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential for this role in Nottingham .
