About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic Chemical Engineer with expertise in polymerization processes to join their innovative team in Liverpool . This role is critical for the development, optimization, and scale-up of advanced polymer manufacturing processes. You will contribute to the creation of novel materials, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety throughout the production cycle. Working with cutting-edge technology, you will collaborate with a talented group of scientists and engineers dedicated to advancing polymer science and applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize polymerization reactors and associated processes for various polymer types.
- Conduct pilot-scale and full-scale production trials, meticulously monitoring process parameters and product characteristics.
- Troubleshoot process issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to improve yield and product quality.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to scale up new polymerization technologies from laboratory to commercial production.
- Ensure processes comply with all safety, environmental, and quality standards relevant to polymer manufacturing.
- Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and safety assessments related to polymerization operations in Liverpool .
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science with a strong chemical engineering focus.
- At least 5 years of experience in polymer process engineering, with specific knowledge of polymerization techniques (e.g., free radical, anionic, cationic).
- Experience with process simulation, statistical process control (SPC), and experimental design.
- Familiarity with polymer characterization techniques is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.
