About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer with a focus on Process Optimisation to join their established team in Portsmouth . This role is vital for enhancing the efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness of our chemical manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for analysing existing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that drive significant operational gains. Working closely with production, maintenance, and quality control teams, you will ensure our processes remain at the forefront of industry standards. This is a hands-on role for an engineer passionate about continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse existing chemical processes to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and implement process optimisation strategies to increase yield, reduce waste, and lower costs.
• Utilise process simulation and data analytics tools to model and predict process behaviour.
• Design and oversee pilot plant studies to test optimisation initiatives before full-scale implementation.
• Ensure all process changes comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical support and training to plant operators and engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a process engineering or optimisation role within the chemical industry.
• Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to use data for process improvements.
• Experience with process simulation software and statistical analysis techniques.
• Knowledge of process safety principles and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
