Chemical Engineer - Product Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Chemical Engineer to join their Product Development team in Glasgow . This role is integral to the creation and refinement of new chemical products, from initial concept through to pilot testing and production readiness. You will work in a collaborative environment, translating market needs and scientific discoveries into commercially viable chemical solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of chemical principles, laboratory techniques, and scale-up challenges, coupled with a passion for bringing new ideas to market.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory experiments to synthesize and characterize new chemical compounds and formulations.
• Develop and optimize reaction conditions and process parameters for new product manufacturing.
• Perform pilot plant trials to assess process feasibility and gather data for scale-up.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to understand customer requirements and market trends.
• Prepare technical documentation, including research reports, experimental procedures, and batch records.
• Ensure all product development activities adhere to safety and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

• BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• 1-3 years of experience in product development, process R&D, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques.
• Understanding of chemical synthesis and process scale-up principles.
• Familiarity with product safety regulations and documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
