About the Role
Our client seeks a dedicated Chemical Engineer specializing in production support for their facility in Plymouth. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and safe operation of chemical manufacturing processes. You will work closely with the production team to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and implement improvements. The position adopts a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence for critical operations while allowing for remote work for specific analytical and planning tasks, fostering both operational effectiveness and work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the production team, addressing process deviations and operational challenges.
- Monitor key process parameters and performance indicators, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Implement process optimization initiatives to enhance yield, reduce waste, and improve energy efficiency.
- Participate in process hazard analyses and assist in implementing safety recommendations.
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and batch records.
- Support commissioning and validation activities for new equipment and process changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience (3-5 years) in a production engineering or process support role within the chemical industry.
- Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and operations.
- Familiarity with process control systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills, adaptable to a hybrid work environment.
