About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Engineer with a focus on project delivery to join their team in Plymouth, Devon . This role is integral to managing and executing capital projects, ensuring that new chemical processes and facilities are brought online safely, efficiently, and on schedule. You will be involved from the conceptual stages through to commissioning and handover, working closely with design teams, contractors, and operational personnel. The position demands strong project management skills combined with solid chemical engineering expertise. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate chemical engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and cost estimates for new chemical plant installations and modifications.
- Oversee the design, procurement, and construction phases of projects, ensuring technical integrity and compliance.
- Conduct site inspections, commissioning activities, and performance testing to verify project success.
- Collaborate with HSE teams to ensure all projects meet stringent safety and environmental standards in Devon .
- Provide technical support during the operational handover of new facilities and processes to the plant team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in project engineering or project management within the chemical or process industry.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering capital projects on time and within budget.
- Familiarity with project management software and techniques.
- Strong understanding of process safety management (PSM) principles and risk assessment methodologies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, essential for coordination in Plymouth .
