About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chemical Engineer with a strong aptitude for project management to join their team in Derby . This role is pivotal in overseeing the successful execution of capital projects and process improvement initiatives from conception through to completion. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all aspects of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically adept professional to lead significant projects within the chemical sector in Derbyshire.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage chemical engineering projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, risk assessment, and stakeholder management.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, operations, procurement) and external vendors/contractors.
- Ensure all project activities comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Prepare project reports, conduct project reviews, and communicate status to senior management.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- Proven experience in project management, ideally within the chemical industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a lead role.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle management and relevant methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment in Derby , with occasional travel as required.
