Chemical Engineer - Project Management

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer with strong project management capabilities to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role involves overseeing chemical engineering projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, manage external contractors, and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute chemical engineering projects, including scope definition, planning, and execution.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines, operations, procurement, and construction teams.
• Develop project schedules, cost estimates, and resource allocation plans.
• Ensure adherence to all safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) standards throughout project lifecycles.
• Manage contractor performance and ensure deliverables meet project specifications.
• Prepare project status reports and present updates to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical process design and project execution.
• Proven experience in managing capital projects within the chemical industry.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
• Familiarity with process safety management (PSM) and relevant engineering codes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
