Chemical Engineer - Project Management

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic Chemical Engineer with strong Project Management skills to join their team in Bristol, South West England, UK . This role focuses on managing the full lifecycle of chemical engineering projects, from initiation and planning through to execution, monitoring, and closure. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and excellent organizational and leadership capabilities, offering a key role in driving significant operational and capital initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage diverse chemical engineering projects, including new plant construction, equipment upgrades, and process modifications.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, operations, procurement) and external contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure all projects comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Communicate project status, updates, and outcomes effectively to stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience within the chemical or process industries.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of chemical processes, plant design, and construction methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Formal project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
