Chemical Engineer - Research & Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and technically proficient Chemical Engineer to join their cutting-edge Research & Development division in Nottingham . This role focuses on developing novel chemical processes and technologies, from laboratory feasibility studies through to pilot-scale validation. You will work on exciting projects aimed at advancing the company's product portfolio and manufacturing capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong theoretical knowledge, excellent experimental skills, and a creative approach to problem-solving, contributing to the forefront of chemical engineering innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct experimental investigations to explore and develop new chemical processes and synthesis routes.
• Design and execute laboratory and pilot-scale trials to assess process viability and gather critical data.
• Perform process modeling and simulation to predict performance and optimize operating conditions.
• Analyze experimental results, interpret data, and generate comprehensive technical reports.
• Collaborate with R&D scientists, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless technology transfer.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in chemical engineering and relevant scientific fields.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering .
• Proven experience in R&D, process development, or scale-up, preferably within a relevant industrial sector.
• Strong understanding of reaction engineering , thermodynamics, and separation processes.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Experience in laboratory experimentation and pilot plant operations.
• Excellent scientific curiosity, problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities.
