About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Plant Engineer to provide essential operational support for their manufacturing facility in Nottingham . This role is critical for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of chemical plant equipment and processes. You will be involved in day-to-day problem-solving, preventative maintenance oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with the operations team to maintain high standards of plant performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and support for the operation and maintenance of chemical plant equipment and processes.
- Investigate operational issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Contribute to the development and execution of preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability.
- Participate in process safety reviews and ensure adherence to all safety and environmental regulations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Assist in the planning and execution of minor plant modifications and equipment upgrades.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a Mechanical Engineering with significant chemical plant experience.
- At least 4 years of experience in plant operations, maintenance, or engineering support within the chemical manufacturing industry.
- Solid understanding of chemical processes, unit operations, and plant safety principles.
- Experience with maintenance management systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with operational teams.
- Familiarity with P&IDs and engineering drawings is essential for this role in Nottingham .
