About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Chemical Plant Engineer to join their operational team based in Nottingham . This role is essential for maintaining the integrity, safety, and efficiency of our chemical plant operations. You will be responsible for overseeing plant equipment, implementing maintenance strategies, and supporting process improvement initiatives. This is an on-site position that requires a hands-on approach and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of operational performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of all chemical plant equipment, including reactors, pumps, and control systems.
• Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and operational costs.
• Respond to plant emergencies and troubleshoot equipment failures, implementing timely and effective repairs.
• Collaborate with the process engineering team to implement process improvements and modifications.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the plant.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory.

Requirements

• BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in a chemical plant engineering or maintenance role.
• Strong knowledge of plant equipment, mechanical systems, and process instrumentation.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a plant operations team.
