About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on and experienced Chemical Plant Engineer to oversee and improve operations at their facility in Portsmouth . This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of chemical processing equipment and systems. You will be responsible for maintenance strategies, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the plant environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of theoretical knowledge and practical plant experience, contributing significantly to the operational success in Hampshire .
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the performance of chemical processing equipment and plant systems.
- Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues within the plant.
- Ensure all plant operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Lead small projects for plant upgrades and modifications, from conception to completion.
- Provide technical support and guidance to plant operators and maintenance staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a chemical plant environment, preferably in an engineering or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of process equipment, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Proven experience in maintenance management and troubleshooting complex plant issues.
- Knowledge of process safety management and environmental regulations.
- Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
