About the Role
Our client, a key player in the industrial chemicals sector, is seeking a dedicated Chemical Plant Engineer to manage and optimize operations at their facility in Portsmouth . This role is central to ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable functioning of all chemical production processes. You will be responsible for overseeing plant maintenance, troubleshooting operational issues, and implementing improvements to enhance productivity and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of chemical processing equipment and plant infrastructure.
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and process-related issues to ensure continuous production.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Manage contractor activities on site, ensuring work is performed safely and to high standards.
- Contribute to process improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in plant operations and maintenance within a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of process equipment , instrumentation, and control systems.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and best practices in chemical plant operations.
- Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
