About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-driven Chemical Plant Operations Manager to oversee their manufacturing facility in Brighton . This senior role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence, safety, and environmental stewardship. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and staff management, ensuring efficient and safe output of chemical products. This hybrid position requires regular on-site presence for direct oversight and team engagement, complemented by remote strategic planning and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day plant operations to meet production targets, quality standards, and cost objectives.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize plant performance, improve efficiency, and reduce operating costs.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of production supervisors and operators.
• Oversee maintenance and asset integrity programs to minimize downtime and ensure reliability.
• Manage capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; Master's preferred.
• Significant experience (8+ years) in chemical plant operations management, with a strong track record of leadership.
• Proven experience in managing production, maintenance, and safety systems in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Deep understanding of process safety management (PSM) and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent strategic planning, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and people management skills.
