Chemical Process Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Chemical Process Design Engineer to join their innovative and fully remote engineering team. This role focuses on the conceptualization, design, and development of new chemical processes and the modification of existing ones to meet evolving industry demands. You will leverage advanced simulation tools and your deep understanding of chemical engineering principles to create efficient, safe, and sustainable process designs. Key Responsibilities

• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances for new and existing chemical processes.
• Perform process simulations using industry-standard software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD).
• Specify process equipment, including reactors, distillation columns, heat exchangers, and pumps.
• Conduct feasibility studies and preliminary design packages for capital projects.
• Ensure process designs adhere to all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders through virtual platforms to define project scope and requirements.

Requirements

• MSc or BSc in Chemical Engineering .
• 5-7 years of experience in chemical process design.
• Proficiency in process simulation and design software.
• Strong knowledge of equipment design and selection principles.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills for remote collaboration.
