Chemical Process Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Chemical Process Design Engineer to join their established team in Norwich, Norfolk . This role is central to the design, development, and implementation of new chemical processes and the modification of existing ones. Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer chemical processes, including equipment selection, P&ID development, and process flow diagrams.
• Perform process simulations and calculations, such as mass and energy balances.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement safety measures.
• Collaborate with project teams, procurement, and construction engineers during project execution.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing chemical processes to improve performance and reduce costs.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in chemical process design or engineering.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools.
• Knowledge of process safety principles and environmental regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, essential for working within project teams in Norwich .
