About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Chemical Process Development Engineer for a fully remote position. This role is central to driving innovation and translating novel chemical concepts into viable, scalable industrial processes. You will work closely with research teams and manufacturing units to bridge the gap between laboratory discovery and commercial production, optimizing routes and ensuring robust, efficient operations. This opportunity offers significant autonomy and the chance to shape the future of our product development pipeline from a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead process development activities from bench scale to pilot plant and commercial scale.
- Design and execute experiments to optimize reaction conditions, separation processes, and product isolation.
- Develop and validate process models to predict performance and identify critical operating parameters.
- Author comprehensive process development reports, including recommendations for scale-up.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure successful technology transfer.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex process-related issues encountered during development and scale-up.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in chemical process development and scale-up.
- Demonstrated expertise in experimental design (DoE) and statistical analysis.
- Strong knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and separation science.
- Experience with pilot plant operations and technology transfer to manufacturing.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a track record of successfully developing and implementing new chemical processes in Southampton .
