Chemical Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experiments to optimize reaction conditions, purification methods, and downstream processing for chemical synthesis.
• Develop and validate new chemical processes, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and scalable.
• Characterize chemical intermediates and final products using analytical techniques.
• Troubleshoot process-related issues encountered during development and pilot-scale trials.
• Prepare detailed documentation for process development activities, including experimental protocols and reports.
• Collaborate with scale-up engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth technology transfer.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering , Chemistry, or a related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in process development , preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory-scale and pilot-scale chemical synthesis and purification.
• Strong knowledge of organic chemistry , reaction kinetics, and analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, NMR).
• Familiarity with GMP guidelines and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical sector.
• Excellent data analysis skills and experience with statistical experimental design (DoE).
