Chemical Process Engineer - Pharmaceuticals

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Process Engineer with expertise in the Pharmaceutical sector to join their team in Liverpool . This role is integral to the development, optimization, and scale-up of chemical processes for pharmaceutical intermediates and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). You will work within a highly regulated environment, ensuring processes meet stringent quality, safety, and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for the synthesis of pharmaceutical compounds.
• Perform process validation activities and ensure compliance with GMP regulations.
• Conduct mass and energy balances, PFDs, and P&IDs for new and existing processes.
• Troubleshoot process deviations and implement solutions to maintain product quality and yield.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing.
• Ensure all process engineering activities adhere to strict safety and environmental guidelines.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering .
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
• Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and their application to chemical process development.
• Experience with process scale-up, validation, and technology transfer.
• Proficiency in process simulation and modeling software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
