About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialized Chemical Process Engineer with a focus on Utilities & Infrastructure to join their team in Nottingham . This role is critical for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of essential plant utilities such as steam, water treatment, compressed air, and environmental control systems. You will be responsible for the design, operation, and maintenance of these systems, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to enhance sustainability and reduce operational costs. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of chemical engineering principles applied to utility systems and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the design, installation, and maintenance of plant utility systems, including steam generation, cooling water, and compressed air.
- Monitor utility performance, analyze consumption data, and identify opportunities for optimization and energy savings.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to emissions and wastewater treatment.
- Troubleshoot operational issues within utility systems and implement effective solutions.
- Develop and maintain P&IDs, operating procedures, and maintenance schedules for utility infrastructure.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure seamless utility supply to production processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on industrial utilities.
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles applied to utility systems.
- Experience with water treatment, steam systems, and environmental control technologies.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a plant environment.
