Chemical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks a seasoned Chemical Process Engineer to join their manufacturing division in Portsmouth . This role involves managing and optimizing continuous chemical processes, ensuring they meet stringent quality, safety, and environmental standards. You will work on critical improvements that impact production efficiency and product consistency, playing a key role in maintaining our operational excellence and driving innovation within the plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the performance of continuous chemical processes, identifying and addressing any operational issues.
• Implement process improvements to enhance yield, reduce cycle times, and minimise waste.
• Develop and execute validation protocols for process changes and new equipment installations.
• Ensure all process activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Utilize data analysis tools to monitor process variability and implement control strategies.
• Provide technical support to the operations team and contribute to troubleshooting efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering, preferably in a continuous manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of process control , P&IDs, and mass/energy balances.
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis techniques.
• Familiarity with HAZOP and other risk assessment methodologies.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
