Chemical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and proactive Chemical Process Engineer to join their established team in Milton Keynes . This is a site-based role where you will be directly involved in the operational aspects of chemical manufacturing. You will focus on ensuring the efficiency, safety, and reliability of ongoing chemical processes, working closely with plant operations and maintenance teams. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to apply your engineering expertise in a hands-on environment, contributing to the smooth running of a vital production facility and driving continuous improvement initiatives on the plant floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control chemical processes to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Identify process deviations and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
• Participate in process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement recommended safety improvements.
• Support plant commissioning and start-up activities for new equipment and process modifications.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and provide training to plant operators.
• Analyze process data to identify trends and opportunities for efficiency gains.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 2-4 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or process engineering role.
• Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation.
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in a chemical plant setting.
• Strong observational and analytical skills.
