Chemical Process Optimisation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Chemical Process Optimisation Engineer to join their established operations team in Southampton . This role is crucial for enhancing the efficiency, output, and sustainability of our chemical manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for analysing existing operations, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing data-driven improvements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset and a passion for continuous improvement, working to maximise performance and minimise waste within a dedicated production facility in Hampshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse plant performance data to identify opportunities for process optimisation.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve process yields, reduce energy consumption, and minimise waste streams.
• Conduct root cause analyses for process deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to implement process changes effectively.
• Utilise statistical analysis and modelling tools to validate optimisation strategies.
• Develop and deliver training on new process procedures and best practices to operational staff.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in process engineering, with a strong emphasis on optimisation.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab) and process simulation software.
• Understanding of statistical process control (SPC) principles.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail for on-site analysis in Southampton .
