About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive Chemical Process Optimisation Engineer to join their established operations team in Southampton . This role is crucial for enhancing the efficiency, output, and sustainability of our chemical manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for analysing existing operations, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing data-driven improvements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset and a passion for continuous improvement, working to maximise performance and minimise waste within a dedicated production facility in Hampshire .
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse plant performance data to identify opportunities for process optimisation.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve process yields, reduce energy consumption, and minimise waste streams.
- Conduct root cause analyses for process deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to implement process changes effectively.
- Utilise statistical analysis and modelling tools to validate optimisation strategies.
- Develop and deliver training on new process procedures and best practices to operational staff.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in process engineering, with a strong emphasis on optimisation.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab) and process simulation software.
- Understanding of statistical process control (SPC) principles.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail for on-site analysis in Southampton .
