About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive Chemical Process Optimization Engineer to join their dynamic team in Leeds . This role is central to enhancing the performance of our client's chemical manufacturing operations through data analysis, process improvements, and the application of advanced engineering principles. You will be involved in projects aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring the highest levels of product quality and operational reliability. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze process data to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize chemical processes, focusing on yield, energy consumption, and waste reduction.
• Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools to monitor and improve process consistency.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement process modifications and troubleshoot issues.
• Lead or participate in root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in process optimization and chemical engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering, with a strong focus on optimization and continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in data analysis techniques and software (e.g., Excel, MATLAB, Python for data science).
• Experience with process simulation and modeling tools.
• Understanding of statistical methods and their application in process control.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, comfortable working in a hybrid environment.
