Chemical Project Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Project Engineer to manage and execute capital projects within their facilities in the Bristol area. This role involves leading projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required specifications. You will be responsible for project planning, design review, contractor management, and ensuring all projects meet stringent safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering project management and a proven ability to deliver complex engineering initiatives successfully.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of chemical engineering projects, from feasibility studies to final commissioning.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, and monitor progress closely.
• Coordinate and supervise engineering design work, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Oversee the procurement of equipment and services, and manage relationships with contractors and vendors.
• Ensure all projects adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical support and problem-solving expertise during project execution and beyond.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in project engineering or project management within the chemical industry.
• Proven experience in managing capital projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Strong knowledge of process design, equipment selection, and construction management.
• Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) is essential.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
