Childcare Assistant (Creche)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an energetic and compassionate Childcare Assistant to join their creche facility in Stoke-on-Trent . This role involves providing essential care and support to young children while their parents utilise the facility's services. You will be responsible for supervising children, engaging them in simple activities, ensuring their safety, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise children aged 6 months to 5 years within the creche environment.
• Engage children in age-appropriate games, stories, and creative play activities.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children under your care, responding promptly to their needs.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, including nappy changing and hand washing routines.
• Assist with the preparation of light snacks and ensure children are comfortable.
• Liaise with parents upon drop-off and collection, providing brief updates on their child's time in the creche.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a childcare setting is highly desirable.
• A genuine passion for working with young children and understanding their basic needs.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to health and safety guidelines.
• A clear DBS check and commitment to safeguarding children.
