Childcare Assistant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and caring Childcare Assistant to join their thriving nursery in Brighton . You will work as part of a friendly and professional team, providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children aged from birth to five years. This role involves assisting the lead practitioners in delivering high-quality care and education, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. It's a hands-on role focused on supporting children's learning and development through play, encouraging their social, emotional, and physical growth within a vibrant community setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily care of children, including feeding, changing nappies, and ensuring personal hygiene.
• Support lead practitioners in planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Observe children's development and contribute to their learning records and portfolios.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised learning environment within the nursery rooms.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Requirements

• Level 1 or 2 qualification in Childcare or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience working with young children is highly desirable.
• A strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Enthusiasm, patience, and a genuine love for working with children.
• Willingness to undertake further training as required.
