Childcare Assistant

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and nurturing Childcare Assistant to support their dedicated team in Edinburgh . You will assist in providing a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment for children, helping them to learn and develop through play. This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with children and looking to gain valuable experience in the early years sector. You will work closely with experienced educators, contributing to the daily routines and activities that promote positive childhood experiences and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising and engaging children in a variety of age-appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors.
• Support children's personal care needs, including feeding, hygiene, and nappy changing.
• Help to maintain a clean, tidy, and safe play environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with children, using positive reinforcement and encouragement.
• Support the room leader and other team members in delivering the curriculum and daily program.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a childcare setting is desirable but not essential.
• A genuine interest in working with children and supporting their development.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
• A commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare.
